Wanted to take the time to thank everyone that made the Gladiolus Festival a huge success. I was very happy to have Debbie Halvorson, John Pavich, Lisa Dugan, Hank Williams Jr. and all committeemen and volunteers at my home to kick things off. The parade was great fun and very encouraging. To be loudly cheered on several occasions was a great feeling. I don't think I can remember being cheered since high school basketball. Which was more years ago than I care to remember! So again thanks to everyone especially all the people of Momence and beyond that filled the town.

About Me
- Name: tjgriggs
- Location: Momence, Illinois, United States
My name is Travis J. Griggs and I am running for County Board in the 2nd district. As a fifth generation farmer, I grew up on a small family farm situated between Momence and Grant Park. I married Christine Bishop in 2000 and we recently celebrated the birth of our daughter, McKenna Marie, the first girl in seven generations in the Griggs family. We also have a son, Cole Montgomery, who recently became a teenager and the two keep me very busy. I owned and operated my own wireless communication business for five years. Most recently, I took a position as an account manager for Intercon Solutions, an established recycling company with a zero-tolerance policy for landfilling assisting companies in disposing of e-waste in an environmentally responsible manner. I have spent countless hours as a volunteer in local youth leagues, coaching for the last 15 years at various levels. I look forward to bringing my extensive business management background to a County Board in desperate need of responsible spending. I would like to serve my community in the 2nd district and bring back fiscal responsibility and add integrity and honesty to the county board.

Thanks for letting us use your home as a meeting place and pit stop, especially to catch some shade! It was nice, all of us together. My husband said they actually had a contingent of "confederate soldiers" in the parade, and they were firing their guns every block. Unfortunately they were also marching and firing right behind the Jesse White Tumblers.
